Miranda Macpherson ~ Surrender: the art of getting out of the way

Miranda Macpherson is a contemporary spiritual teacher, counselor and author of the spiritual guidebook. Boundless Love. She comes from traditions of Sufism, Zen, A Course in Miracles, and Advaita. Raised in Australia, she lived in London, where she was founder and spiritual director of OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation, training and ordaining over 600 ministers and counselors. Since 2007 she has been based in the Bay Area. In her mid-thirties, Miranda was graced by a profound nondual awakening in the cave of Ramana Maharshi in India. This silent transmission of pure being beyond mind had a lasting impact on her awareness and changed the orientation of her life and teaching. Miranda leads the ÔAwakening Love & WisdomÓ sangha, monthly meetings in Corte Madera and Santa Rosa, holds retreats internationally and offers extensive online programs through the Shift Network.

In her words: “All non-dual teachings remind us that freedom and love is our natural state. God Ð pure radiant consciousness, is what we always already are, even if we do not feel it yet as our emotional reality. Many insist that since our deepest being is already free, we need not engage in any kind of spiritual practices. Why seek to become what we already are? Others focus on chipping away at the blocks to truth, working to become awake. I take an integrated approach that includes both perspectives, embracing what helps us taste more directly our true nature as ever-present being and love, and what helps us continue unfolding and embodying that realization.

We offer our events by donation or sliding scale with scholarships available to make them as accessible as possible. We still however have many expenses to pay and therefore we ask that you contribute as much as you can comfortably afford for an event. Most of the funds are paid directly to the teacher. The remainder goes towards Open Circle’s expenses so that we can keep our platform in operation. Your generosity also helps cover any scholarships we offer to those unable to pay within the sliding scale.
