Open Circle Sebastopol Sangha ~ The Quiet Within

Per Thich Nhat HanhÕs definition, sangha is a community of friends practicing the dharma together to bring about and maintain awareness. The theme for this free meeting, The Quiet Within, is the ground of our being, a place of emptiness, peace and strength.ÊWe can access it anytime, anywhere, in meditation and mindfulness in daily life.

The meeting will start with mediation, a few opening remarks, a one-word check-in, then time for everyone, to share your experience with going within. These are extraordinary times, with most of us sheltering at home. They call for an extraordinary response from us, beyond the usual consumer business. Going within is to detach from usual mind states, to rest in the source of our being.

We offer our events by donation or sliding scale with scholarships available to make them as accessible as possible. We still however have many expenses to pay and therefore we ask that you contribute as much as you can comfortably afford for an event. Most of the funds are paid directly to the teacher. The remainder goes towards Open Circle’s expenses so that we can keep our platform in operation. Your generosity also helps cover any scholarships we offer to those unable to pay within the sliding scale.
