CANCELLED – Georgia Simone ~ Befriending Shame and Self-Judgement
This event had to be cancelled.
We look forward to scheduling for a new date.
Shame keeps us locked in destructive strategies while simultaneously disconnecting us from our deeper nature. It manifests as low self-esteem, self judgement, and feeling like an outsider. Indeed, this experience – that youÕre deficient in some way – is the glue that holds unresolved trauma together.
Spiritual teachings acknowledge that the separate sense of self is rooted in this fundamental misperception. However, despite this understanding, you may have noticed how pervasive it is! Deconstructing shame is much more than changing a belief or expanding your perspective, because shame is much more than a belief or a perception. Indeed, it has woven its way into your very sense of self, from mind to body to heart. Therefore, only when you can meet it all levels of identity can you begin to loosen its tenacious grip.
During our time together, weÕll deconstruct shame through the lens of developmental trauma.
YouÕll learn:Ê
- Why shame is the glue that holds unresolved trauma together
- How to recognise when youÕre caught in a shame spiral and how to step outside of it
- A guided process for befriending (and therefore disarming) your inner critic
- How to meet yourself with more patience and greater compassion
This will happen in the context of a deeply held relational space where you can safely explore this patterningÊ in real time.
Awakened Healing is a presence based, body oriented, and relationally centered approach to addressing unresolved trauma. Through gentle exploration and somatic awareness you can cultivate a new way of being with your most challenging patterns. No longer a victim of the push and pull of inner disturbance, you can step forward with greater confidence, knowing that whatever comes your way, you embody the resilience and the capacity to meet and integrate it. As you awaken and refine a more subtle way of Being and Being With, you can slowly but surely become the space Ð the container and the field Ð where healing takes place.
Georgia Simone is a facilitator of trauma-informed healing and awakening. The first leg of her path exposed her to the teachings of Advaita Vedanta, which provided her with the foundation she needed to dis-identify from pain and suffering. However, despite a growing freedom, a significant bypass took place, as her orientation towards transcendence reinforced her deep disconnection from life. Upon seeing this, her focus became addressing the unresolved trauma that had woven its way into every fibre of her being.
During this period, Georgia was influenced by Inner Relationship Focusing, a presence based approach that works with the Felt Sense and the split-off parts of self. She also trained as a NARM informed practitioner, which addresses developmental, attachment and relational trauma. After many years of wading through this marshland of conditioning, she now shares her discoveries with others.
Georgia invites a rounded and grounded approach that holds psychological healing and spiritual awakening in equal measure. ItÕs through this holistic embrace that she weaves her passion for meeting and healing the conditioning that blinds and binds us. She believes that the spiritual path is as much about arriving here fully Ð as an embodied human being Ð as it is about dissolving into the infinite source that makes this life possible. How can we die to the absolute, while deeply embracing our relative human experience? This Living Inquiry is her LifeÕs prayer.
