Amita ~ Your True Nature (In-Person Event)

Amita began her journey in the early 1970Õs in San Francisco, and later in the remote jungles of Hawaii. Amita set to break through her conditioned way of knowing herself and the world she lived in. The conscious search for ÒWho Am IÓ began when she read the biographies of Einstein and Gandhi, opening her mind to a way of life that was larger and deeper than she understood at the time.

Amita was introduced to the world of Shamanism through the teachings of Carlos Castaneda. In the late 70Õs, she studied the Enneagram with Helen Palrmer. She meditated and chanted at the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Oakland in the early 80Õs. During this time, she also sat with Baba Hari Das at Mt. Madonna. He gave her the name ÒAmitaÓ meaning Òinfinite lightÓ.

Amita has worked as a seer and spiritual mentor, focusing on healing the thoughts, emotions and past experiences that keep us from knowing the natural state where true grounding and support begin. Her background is in the non-dual teachings of Advaita and Kashmir Saivism as well as Shamanism and the teachings of Rumi and the poet saints of Turkey and the Middle East.

Amita is a spiritual teacher, seer, and healer. Her talks, meditations & intensives are centered around Òdirect experienceÓ of who you are: the original True Nature of the Universe.

Satsang: AmitaÕs events focus on direct experience of True Nature. She invites you to rest in inner stability and silence, deepening your experience of spiritual nourishment as the world continues to turn. You become the still point of the turning-world.

Amita holds a direct transmission to the Awakened State. Her core teaching is that you are already whole and complete. She asks you to let go of the false and fixed ideas that you use to identify yourself, and through that letting go experience the Truth of your Being.

We offer our events by donation or sliding scale with scholarships available to make them as accessible as possible. We still however have many expenses to pay and therefore we ask that you contribute as much as you can comfortably afford for an event. Most of the funds are paid directly to the teacher. The remainder goes towards Open Circle’s expenses so that we can keep our platform in operation. Your generosity also helps cover any scholarships we offer to those unable to pay within the sliding scale.
