SUMMARY:Awake Attachment™ - Intimacy as a Path of Embodiment and Awakening Part 4
DESCRIPTION:When the separate self dissolves – and awakens to one’s natural being\, in deep meditation\, in nature\, in love – what remains is not emptiness. It is intimacy. With everything. \nThis is not an achievement. It is our original nature. \nAnd yet most of us cannot sustain it. Because the nervous system learned\, early\, that closeness was not always safe. \nWhat we long for most – a holy\, primal intimacy with life itself\, with ourselves\, with other humans\, with the more-than-human world – is also what we fear most. And the very places we feel most broken\, most defended\, most disconnected\, are not obstacles to that intimacy. They are the doorway into it. \nWe humans live inside a paradox. \nThe Buddha taught that attachment is the root of suffering – that freedom comes from loosening our grip\, clinging to nothing. Modern psychology says the opposite: from our first breath\, our survival depends on secure bonds. Our nervous systems\, our capacity to regulate and relate\, our sense of safety in the world – all of it is built on healthy attachment. To ourselves\, to each other\, to the more-than-human world. \nWhat if these two teachings are not in conflict? What if the path is not away from attachment – but through it\, into the embodied realization of being both awake and attached? \nMany people drawn to this work have walked a meaningful inner path. And still\, they sense a gap between what they understand spiritually and what they can sustain in real-time relationship – especially when emotions intensify\, or intimacy calls for something more. \nAwakening to our true nature does not automatically resolve the nervous system patterns organized around protection. This series explores that meeting point – where spiritual realization and the living body learn to move together. \nAt the center of this work is a simple but profound reframe: \nThe opposite of attachment is not detachment. It is intimacy without self-abandonment. \nThe Four Sessions \nSession One – Staying · The intelligence of the gut Learning how not to abandon yourself. We establish the conditions for safety\, regulation\, and embodied presence – and begin to explore what it means to remain connected to ourselves when intensity arises. \nSession Two – Feeling · The intelligence of the heart We turn toward emotional presence and the deeper intelligence within our relational patterns – meeting vulnerability and reactivity with awareness rather than avoidance or collapse. \nSession Three – Opening · The intelligence of awareness As the nervous system settles and the heart opens\, we explore intimacy – not as fusion or dependency\, but as the capacity to remain deeply connected without losing ourselves. \nSession Four – Living · Integration of gut\, heart\, and awareness as one breathing motion. What it means to love\, relate\, and meet life from a more grounded and awake presence – not as an ideal\, but as a living capacity. \nHow we explore:\nEach session combines somatic practice\, guided inquiry\, and relational exploration. We slow down together\, settle the nervous system\, and build – gradually and experientially – the capacity to stay present with what is alive inside. The emphasis throughout is on direct experience rather than concept\, and on the integration of insight into lived relationship. \nThis series is for you if…\nYou have a spiritual practice – and your relationships are still the hardest part. \nYou sense a gap between what you understand and what you can sustain in real-time. \nYou long for a deeper ground within yourself – not through control\, but through presence. \nYou are drawn to how awakening lives in the body\, in intimacy\, in the fullness of a human life.

SUMMARY:Being the Love that Doesn’t Come and Go
DESCRIPTION:In all of us there is a background substratum: Stillness\, dark and often overlooked or unseen\, as it is unadorned and we\, as awareness\, are attracted to the luminous. It is sober and wise and anciently ageless. Honoring and including this dark love nourishes it\, so that it is more our felt experience. This allows us to live from the ancient heart of everything\, to recognize the heart at the core of everyone and everything. Ultimately\, embodied balance is revealed hidden within all the opposites\, and streaming soothing transmission results. Each one of us is a sage\, mystic and warrior\, the great promise\, the alchemist and the one that allows humanity to rest as ease in grace. Join Pamela and your fellow sages for a four-part retreat.

SUMMARY:Embodied Awareness
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to join Louise Kay for a full day retreat. This event is an invitation to dedicate a whole day to deepening into the stillness of being in a field of pure\, unconditional love alongside like-minded community. The day will consist of guided and silent meditations as well as Q&A sessions where you will have the opportunity to explore whatever arises for you in the moment. \n\n\n\nLouise will support you to rest your attention as the aware witness while consciously including and feeling the experience of the body as alive sensations. This practice\, which Louise calls ‘Embodied Awareness\,’ supports the direct recognition of one’s true nature through self-inquiry as well as the integration of unprocessed energies and emotions held in the body. When employed with consistency this practice allows one to live fully in presence in an integrated way and to become a vessel through which higher consciousness can flow more freely\, bringing joy to every aspect of life. \n\n\n\nYou will be supported to surrender fully into the now\, dis-identify from the conceptual self and open up to your true nature\, pure consciousness\, to discover an ever-present dimension of peace. \n\n\n\nWhatever emotions or sensations arise in the body will be met with unconditional love under Louise’s gentle guidance\, allowing for deep healing and transformation to take place on the level of form. \n\n\n\n*************** \n\n\n\nThe meeting will be from 10:30am to 4:30pm\, with a break for lunch. \n\n\n\nThere are a variety of places to eat out or pick up prepared food within a few blocks. You can also bring your own food\, though there is no kitchen or refrigerator access. People are welcome to eat outside on the lawn. No eating is allowed indoors at the venue. List of Nearby Solano Ave. Food PlacesParking is unrestricted on Los Angeles Avenue.

SUMMARY:Truly Natural Compassionate Engagement
DESCRIPTION:With guest Rick Hanson\, we’ll explore recognizing our true nature not just as awareness\, but as compassionate humans who are deeply collaborative and cooperative. Founder of the Global Compassion Coalition\, Rick will guide us in carrying our wounds with love and exploring collective action in response to suffering. \n\n\n\nJust as nondual teachings point to our already awake nature\, we don’t have to make an effort to be compassionate\, but can unleash our natural compassionate engagement. Just as nondual practice is surrendering to our true nature\, we can also surrender to our innate goodness: our impulse to connect with others and engage in an effective response to suffering. \n\n\n\nFounder of the Global Compassion Coalition\, renowned author on contemplative practices and neuroscience\, Rick brings a depth of spiritual understanding and wealth of insight about using the power of compassion to accelerate effective collective action while also maintaining our resilience. We’ll explore how we can come together and open to our creative\, empowered response to our troubled world. \n\n\n\nThis session will include guided meditation\, practice\, talks\, conversation exploring compassionate engagement\, and plenty of time for questions and group participation. \n\n\n\nAbout The Engaged Nonduality seriesThis Engaged Nonduality series\, hosted by Lisa Ferguson\, explores how nondual wisdom may respond to our world in crisis. We live in a time of multiple intersecting crises that threaten the wellbeing of all life\, including climate breakdown\, unaligned tech and AI\, injustice\, war and authoritarianism. The recognition of nonduality has much to offer in these times\, including a deep knowing of our wholeness and shared Being\, as well as opening to the wellspring of our wise and creative response. This series invites guest presenters to explore how nondual teaching may respond to planetary crises through talks\, practices and group participation.

SUMMARY:Susanne Marie ~ Serving Others\, Finding Freedom: A Path Beyond Self-Centeredness
DESCRIPTION:Self-preoccupation veils the natural sense of unity and belonging. This is why\, traditionally in India\, the Bhakti path of selfless serviceÑSevaÑhas been so deeply valued. When we make a habit of prioritizing our own needs above all else\, it reinforces the illusion of a separate self. The spiritual journey is\, in essence\, a process of the self lessening so that the Divine may grow within us. Deep down\, we all long to be of true service\, to be put to good useÑbecause giving from the heart brings real joy. Yet the pull of self-centeredness is strong and deeply ingrained. Thankfully\, life offers many natural opportunities for the diminishment of ÔIÕÑthrough parenting\, caregiving\, volunteering\, and other forms of service. However\, even in these\, the inner doer can persist\, resisting the surrender that allows giving to be truly selfless and unattached. In this meeting\, we will explore the transformative power of selfless giving\, and share helpful pointers to support the gentle loosening of self-identification. \nBio: Featured in conversation with Adyashanti on Buddha at the Gas Pump as well as on Conscious TV\, Susanne Marie offers integrated teachings in support of freedom\, and the celebration of our common essence of love and unity with all life. Susanne\, who lives in Northern California\, is the parent of two young adults. As a natural empath\, her teaching style is heart-centered and practical\, whose focus is on supporting you in your unique awakening journey.
